The NEPVA Bass Trail is run by members of the American Eagle Bass Anglers with the support of Local and Federation members.

Anglers with disabilities are paired with boaters for a day of competitive fishing. The partners compete as a team and the team with the largest weight for their limit takes home the first place trophies. The anglers can compete in as many events as possible. Lunker prizes are also awarded for the largest bass taken at each tournament. This tournament trail is completely FREE, there is no entry fee to fish these tournaments.

2019 Charles River Tournament at Newton Yacht Club

Bass Trail History

The NEPVA Bass Trail started in 1998 when “Tiny” LaFontaine contacted the New England PVA asking if we had members who’d like to go Bass fishing, as he knew some members had fished PVA Tournaments. This was the beginning of our Bass Trail, which now three Tournaments a year. His club, the American Eagle Bass Anglers, with the support of Local and Federation members get anglers out in June on the Charles River where it all began. Then was add the September Tournament at Lake Winnipesaukee in NH and in October the North Pond in Maine to end the season. “Tiny” and volunteers from the Nam Knights Motorcycle Club insured it was safe and fun. The Knights help all anglers to the boats and help load any angler at every event. Sadly, “Tiny” our founder passed away in 2020, but his dream carries on having created a passionate Bass Trail family. We know he must be smiling down as each Tournament carries on with the team of volunteers he’s inspired for more than 20 years!
